Natasha Torres-Garner
Natasha Torres-Garner graduated in 2002 from the Senior Professional Program of the School of Contemporary Dancers and has performed in works by Tom Stroud, Rachel Browne, Stephanie Ballard, Peter Bingham, Paul-Andre Fortier, Bill Coleman, Lesandra Dodson, Claudia LaVista, Victor Manuel Ruiz, Brent Lott, Jean-Pierre Perreault, and Sharon Moore. Her wide range of experience has given her a versatility, as well as a deep appreciation for the act of creation.
She is thrilled to have started exploring her own choreographic voice. Her own work has been featured in collective choreographic evenings in Winnipeg, including "Not Another Dance Show", "Mayhem", "Not Frozen or Canned" (Young Lungs' first collective evening of new works), "Private i", and "Shine", No Idling 2005 & 2006, and FemFest 2006. Her movement quality has been described as having animalistic tendencies and sinuous texture. Her works often set a realm where laughter and horror can exist in the same space, taking the audience through colorful illustrations of private and public challenges.
