In December 2005, out of line theatre was invited by Young Lungs Dance Exchange to contribute a performance piece to their choreographic showcase No Idling: Young Lungs at Work. out of line theatre took this opportunity to begin exploration of the material that emerged within the creation of Jealous/Pervert. The work, “I have a gentil cok,” was a short and highly stylized performance piece based on a medieval sex lyric that played out the humour and violent sexuality of cock fighting with the aid of dance technique, multi-media, inventive and provocative costuming, and imaginative object use.
